What is Hoop Club?

Hoop Club is a monthly embroidery subscription service. We find talented artists and designers from around the world and collaborate to come up with modern embroidery projects every month. They’ll most likely contain a hoop (hence the name) but we’ll be exploring all different types of embroidery techniques together so sometimes the apparatus may be different!

Should I sign up if I’m a beginner?

Absolutely! Like all Cotton Clara kits, our projects are designed to be simple and satisfying, while we’ll be learning new stitches and techniques over the coming months, nothing will be overly technical, and everything comes with full instructions and video tutorials.

Will the kits be too easy for me if I’m more experienced?

We hope not! We find it as satisfying to do a simple kit as a more elaborate one, and we hope you’ll be delighted by the never before seen designs and exciting collaborations. We’ll also try and offer suggestions as to how you might use a range of different stitches on a kit, to make it more or less challenging.

Will the kits be in the Cotton Clara shop after the subscription month is ended?

They will, but they will be more expensive. The efficiency of the subscription model helps us to keep the price lower for subscribers.

Why should I subscribe?

Hoop Club will grow to be an amazing community of like-minded embroiderers! We’ll have a Facebook group where you can pick up tips and see each others work and get help if you need it. Subscribers also benefit from getting their hands on these brand new kits first before they are available to anyone else, AND we’re sourcing some brilliant little extras to go in the boxes, that you wouldn’t get were you just buying the kit. We want Hoop Club to be a place where you grow your love of embroidery and cement it as a hobby for life, we know it helps with anxiety, and crafting in general can really improve your mental health and happiness, not least because it keeps you off your phone!

Are you shipping internationally?

We can ship internationally, but please be aware of delays to some international destinations because of Covid 19. We are using DHL which is a tracked 3-5 day service, and is why shipping is a bit more expensive. We’ve chosen this because in the current climate it’s the most reliable way of delivering your parcel to you quickly and reliably. In the future we’re going to do our best to bring this international shipping cost down.

Can I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time, you have until the 15th of each month to cancel it for the next month’s box. 3 monthly and 12 monthly subscriptions work the same way, after each 3 month period, you can cancel up until the 15th of the month etc.

Can I buy a one off box?

Yes, you can take out a monthly subscription and then cancel it before the 15th of the month.

What time of the month do the boxes ship?

We’ll be shipping boxes around the 20th of each month. Shipping should take 1-2 days for the UK and 3-5 for international orders.

When will I be billed each month?

You will be billed on the same date that you signed up, each month. If you signed up for they 3 monthly subscription, this will be the same, only every three months etc.

Can I gift a subscription box?

Yes! There is a gift subscription option for the monthly, 3 monthly and 12 monthly subscription.
